Bessie the Bus is a cute little school bus which was lovingly converted into a mobile pop up shop by Oasis and has been on a year long tour of the UK, bringing womenswear to parts of the country where there is no physical retail store.
We were delighted to hear that the project had made it to the finals for the Draper's 'Best Innovation in Fashion Retail' awards, but was up against stiff competition from Harvey Nichols, Net-a-porter, Sunspel, Ted Baker, Whistles, and Zalando.
We built the campaign microsite for Bessie the Bus which combines fun and whimsy visuals, with some pretty tech social media integration, which builds a live social feed pulling in any instagram images and tweets uploaded within a certain radius of each of Bessie's many stops.
The fact that the site was squarely aimed at women was a breath of fresh air, most of our work tends to be more male orientated. Whereas this enabled us to showcase a different side to our work and it was inspiring to work with a client who understood their customers so deeply.
After a nail biting final, we were disappointed to hear that Bessie didn't win the category, but we're immensely proud of the fact that it was nominated and made it to the finals which is a testament to the team's hard work... and we like to think the website helped as well!
